What are cookies?
Cookies and similar technologies, such as the browser’s local storage, keep information on your device. Here we explain which ones TŌPTĒCH uses, what they are for, how long they last and which need your consent. Anything that is not technical is only turned on if you accept it in the banner.
Technical (always on)
Needed for the site to work or to remember your choices. They are exempt from consent (Art. 22(2) LSSI) and cannot be turned off from the banner.
Keep you securely signed in. They are HttpOnly cookies that the browser does not let any script read.
Protects Google or LinkedIn sign-in while you come back from their page.
Protect Google or LinkedIn sign-in and remember which page to bring you back to. They are only set when you press the button.
Stores your cookie choice.
Remembers the light or dark theme.
Remember the state of the interface: side menu, guides already seen, badges already shown and the first time you use each tool.
Remembers whether you signed up with email, Google or LinkedIn until sign-up is complete. It is only sent to analytics if you accept analytics cookies.
Temporarily keep your conversation with the assistant, AI jobs in progress and anything you are halfway through submitting, so you do not lose it if you reload the page.
Preferences (only if you accept them)
Only turned on if you accept preference cookies in the banner.
Shows the “Continue with Google” prompt when you are signed out and remembers if you closed it. Google sets it when its sign-in service loads.
Analytics (only if you accept them)
Only turned on if you accept them in the banner, and you can withdraw them at any time. They are not anonymous: they are linked to your browser and, in PostHog, to your account if you sign in.
Heatmaps and session recordings to see how the site is used and fix usability problems.
Product analytics (funnels and feature usage), only while we have PostHog enabled.
Remembers the campaign or site you came from until you sign up; it is deleted when you sign up or if you withdraw consent.
Cookieless measurement (always on)
Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights measure visits and performance in aggregate without storing cookies or anything on your device, so they do not depend on the banner.
Page views and where visits come from, in aggregate and without identifying you.
Load times and site performance.
Third-party, only when you use their service
Set by other providers on their own domains when you choose to use their service, and governed by their policies.
Secure payment and fraud prevention on Stripe’s payment page, which you go to when buying a plan. Our site does not load Stripe.
Playback of the home page video. Nothing from YouTube loads until you press play.
